Less than a mile from our beautiful
campground is Banning State Park. Enjoy
a leisurely stroll down wooded trails along

We recommend rafting down the Kettle River through Hard Water Sports. They are amazing and the rafting is a lot of fun!
Banning State Park
River Rafting,
Canoeing, and
Kayaking
The Kettle River is Minnesota's first Wild and Scenic River. A beautiful river to take out your raft, canoe, or kayak. Local rapids make the day adventurous, while the calmness brings tranquility to the soul.
We recommend rafting through Hard Water Sports in Sandstone, MN. They are amazing and it was a lot of fun for our family!
Robinson Park
Sandstone, Minnesota, located just a few
miles from Banning RV Park and
Campground, is home to a bit of Minnesota
mining history. Visit Robinson Park and enjoy the beautiful Kettle River with rock walls meant for scaling. As you walk the park trails, make sure to read up on the history of Sandstone mining along the Kettle River. The Robinson Park area was once a large mining area and the traces can be seen throughout the Park. Rock climbing is also available in the park through Hard Water Sports in Sandstone, MN
Local Nightlife
Just 13 miles south is Hinckley, Minnesota. Hinckley is home to many restaurants, including Tobies (famous for their rolls) and Grand Cinema and Grand Cinema Pizza. Grand Cinema Pizza makes handmade fresh to order pizzas, the best in the area. Great for a date or a night with the family.
One mile east of Grand Cinema is Grand Casino Hinckley. The casino is a great place for adults to relax and enjoy food, gaming, and live music. They even have daycare, an arcade, coffee & gift shops, hair salon, and spa. A great way to spend the evening before coming back to gaze upon the country sky.

Local Community Activities & Festivals
Pine County is small-town USA, and with that comes the small-town festivals and fairs. Try local favorites, ride a few rides, play a few games, and mingle with the locals! Of course, we all know it's about the food, nothing like good fair food, and the festivals in this area have no shortage of foods to try! From the foods and parades to the derbies and the rides, the festivals around here always guarantee a good time.
